FAQ BONAIRE

Most asked questions and answers

  • What will I learn in the Avelo Diver course?

In this course you will learn how the Avelo system works and how to achieve perfect buoyancy using water instead of air. You will gain confidence, reduce drag, and move smoothly through the water. Our experienced instructors guide you step by step until the Avelo method feels natural and easy.

  • How long does the Avelo Diver course take?

The course usually takes one to two days depending on your experience. It includes classroom sessions, in water training, and guided Avelo dives around Bonaire. We keep class sizes small so every diver gets personal attention and plenty of time to practice.

  • Do I need special certification before joining an Avelo course?

You need at least a PADI Open Water certification or equivalent to start the Avelo Diver course. If you are not certified yet, you can complete your Open Water training with Dive Friends Bonaire first and then continue directly into Avelo training.

  • What makes Avelo training different from standard scuba courses?

Avelo focuses on perfect buoyancy control using a lightweight tank that manages pressure with water instead of air. This removes the need for constant adjustments and heavy weights. You learn to dive more efficiently, conserve energy, and enjoy longer, more relaxed dives.

  • Can I become an Avelo instructor or professional?

Yes. Once you complete the Avelo Diver course, you can continue to the Avelo Pro training. This program prepares dive professionals to teach others how to dive with the Avelo system safely and effectively. Dive Friends Bonaire offers both training and mentorship.

  • How can I book an Avelo course on Bonaire?

You can book your Avelo course directly through the Dive Friends Bonaire website or by contacting our team by email or phone. We will help you choose the best dates and make sure your course fits perfectly into your Bonaire dive vacation.
