Recreational Avelo Diver
Step 1:
ONLINE TRAINING
(about 1–2 hours)
Complete a short online module that builds on your open water knowledge and introduces the Avelo System.
Step 2:
IN WATER TRAINING
(2 dives)
Practice Avelo skills alongside a certified instructor. Together you will fine-tune buoyancy and safety techniques until you feel completely comfortable. Once you meet all requirements, your certification is confirmed.
Step 3:
EARN YOUR CERTIFICATION
Receive a digital Avelo certification card you can keep on your phone or email and access at any Avelo Dive Center worldwide.

What will I learn in the Avelo Diver course?
In this course you will learn how the Avelo system works and how to achieve perfect buoyancy using water instead of air. You will gain confidence, reduce drag, and move smoothly through the water. Our experienced instructors guide you step by step until the Avelo method feels natural and easy.
How long does the Avelo Diver course take?
The course usually takes one to two days depending on your experience. It includes classroom sessions, in water training, and guided Avelo dives around Bonaire. We keep class sizes small so every diver gets personal attention and plenty of time to practice.
Do I need special certification before joining an Avelo course?
You need at least a PADI Open Water certification or equivalent to start the Avelo Diver course. If you are not certified yet, you can complete your Open Water training with Dive Friends Bonaire first and then continue directly into Avelo training.
What makes Avelo training different from standard scuba courses?
