What will you do?

• Lead epic dive adventures (shore, boat, dusk & night)
• Assist instructors in training new and experienced divers
• Welcome and check in guests, sell awesome gear & experiences, and provide our guests with advice concerning things like dive locations and Bonaire Marine Park
• Be a role model when it comes to safety and environmental standards and rules

What we are looking for?

• Certified PADI Divemaster
• Fluent English speaker (bonus if you speak more languages)
• Working experience as Divemaster and Boat captain is a big plus

What we offer:

• Full-time (40 hours/week) with a 2-day consecutive weekend
• Monthly salary: $1,903–$2,167 gross

Dive Friends Bonaire – More Than Just a Dive Center.

With 7 different locations and 3 retail stores, Dive Friends Bonaire has the biggest dive operation on Bonaire. We have approx. 65 employees. Dive Friends Bonaire is a PADI 5 star IDC center. Divers are trained from beginner to professional level. We introduce guests to the most beautiful dive sites on Bonaire. Our dive shops are open 7 days per week to provide a perfect experience for our guests.  We are a retail dealer, importing and distributing merchandise for all Dive Friends shops and retail shops. In addition, we supply other dive centers with dive equipment and accessories on Bonaire and work closely with some on-island suppliers.

Job Opening: Human Resources Manager at Dive Friends Bonaire

Do you have a passion for people and diving? Dive into a new challenge with Dive Friends Bonaire! We’re looking for an enthusiastic and driven Human Resources Manager (HR Manager) to join our team.

What will you do?

As HR Manager and member of the management team you are responsible for all strategic, tactical, and operational HR matters for Dive Friends Bonaire. You help ensure that employees enjoy working for us and that we have professional HR.

• You translate the strategic goals of Dive Friends Bonaire into clear HR priorities, policies and actions that support growth, operational excellence and employee engagement.
• You actively contribute to building a professional, open feedback culture and support managers in people management, performance management and accountability.
• You ensure optimal staffing of the organization (recruitment, selection, appointment, transfer, and exit).
• You are a hands-on HR Manager who is visible on the work floor and understands the daily operational reality of a multi-location dive operation.
• You are responsible for all HR administration, including but not limited to, labor contracts, termination of employment, holiday and time back registration and take care of all communication regarding the employment for employees.
• You advise the director and management on HR matters and are a professional sparring partner for them.
• You take care of the monthly payroll administration.
• You are the manager of the Management Assistant who will be supporting you with HR- and payroll administration.

What are we looking for?

• Bachelor / Master education in the field of HR
• Demonstrable experience in a similar position (minimum 3 years)
• Good written and verbal communication skills, in both Dutch and English. A third language is an advantage
• Flexible attitude & stress resistance
• Experience in a dynamic, operational environment (hospitality, retail, tourism or similar) is a strong advantage.
• You are approachable and empathetic, yet firm and consistent when needed. You are not afraid to address issues directly and help the organization grow through honest conversations.
• Knowledge of local employment and payroll laws, or the ability to rapidly develop this knowledge in the role
• Due to Immigration regulations, you can apply if you have the Dutch or US nationality
• Valid driver’s license
