Divers are trained from beginner to professional level. We introduce guests to the most beautiful dive sites on Bonaire. Our dive shops are open 7 days per week to provide a perfect experience for our guests.  We are a retail dealer, importing and distributing merchandise for all Dive Friends shops and retail shops. In addition, we supply other dive centers with dive equipment and accessories on Bonaire and work closely with some on-island suppliers.

Job Opening: Human Resources Manager at Dive Friends Bonaire

Do you have a passion for people and diving? Dive into a new challenge with Dive Friends Bonaire! We’re looking for an enthusiastic and driven Human Resources Manager (HR Manager) to join our team.

What will you do?

As HR Manager and member of the management team you are responsible for all strategic, tactical, and operational HR matters for Dive Friends Bonaire. You help ensure that employees enjoy working for us and that we have professional HR.

• You translate the strategic goals of Dive Friends Bonaire into clear HR priorities, policies and actions that support growth, operational excellence and employee engagement.
• You actively contribute to building a professional, open feedback culture and support managers in people management, performance management and accountability.
• You ensure optimal staffing of the organization (recruitment, selection, appointment, transfer, and exit).
• You are a hands-on HR Manager who is visible on the work floor and understands the daily operational reality of a multi-location dive operation.
• You are responsible for all HR administration, including but not limited to, labor contracts, termination of employment, holiday and time back registration and take care of all communication regarding the employment for employees.
• You advise the director and management on HR matters and are a professional sparring partner for them.
• You take care of the monthly payroll administration.
• You are the manager of the Management Assistant who will be supporting you with HR- and payroll administration.

What are we looking for?

• Bachelor / Master education in the field of HR
• Demonstrable experience in a similar position (minimum 3 years)
• Good written and verbal communication skills, in both Dutch and English. A third language is an advantage
• Flexible attitude & stress resistance
• Experience in a dynamic, operational environment (hospitality, retail, tourism or similar) is a strong advantage.
• You are approachable and empathetic, yet firm and consistent when needed. You are not afraid to address issues directly and help the organization grow through honest conversations.
• Knowledge of local employment and payroll laws, or the ability to rapidly develop this knowledge in the role
• Due to Immigration regulations, you can apply if you have the Dutch or US nationality
• Valid driver’s license

What will you do?

• Lead epic dive adventures (shore, boat, dusk & night)
• Assist instructors in training new and experienced divers
• Welcome and check in guests, sell awesome gear & experiences, and provide our guests with advice concerning things like dive locations and Bonaire Marine Park
• Be a role model when it comes to safety and environmental standards and rules

What we are looking for?

• Certified PADI Divemaster
• Fluent English speaker (bonus if you speak more languages)
• Working experience as Divemaster and Boat captain is a big plus

What we offer:

Job Opening: Reservations and Planning agent Dive Friends Bonaire

Do you have a passion for diving and delivering exceptional guest experiences while ensuring operational efficiency? Dive into a new challenge with Dive Friends Bonaire! We’re looking for an enthusiastic and driven Reservations and Planning Agent to join our team and help us evolve our planning and reservations processes.

What will you do?

• You will manage customer inquiries and reservations, ensuring responses within Dive Friends Bonaire’s 24-hour policy while maximizing revenue through upselling.
• You’ll develop and adjust staff schedules to balance resources effectively and adapt to changing demands.
• Collaborating with managers and stakeholders, you’ll optimize operations and resolve scheduling or reservation challenges.
• Identify inefficiencies in current planning and reservation workflows, proposing and implementing improvements to make processes more structured, transparent, and efficient.
• Communicate schedules and updates clearly to managers and staff, ensuring everyone has the information they need to deliver exceptional guest experiences.
• Support the development of digital tools and reporting methods for reservation, planning and forecasting.

What are we looking for?

• Proven knowledge of the diving industry and PADI standards Dive Master certification is a plus.
• Proven experience in reservations, planning or similar roles experience in hospitality, diving, or tourism is a plus.
• A process improvement mindset you’re not afraid to question “how it’s always been done” and introduce better ways of working.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills enabling you to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and planning/scheduling tools.
• The Dutch or US nationality due to immigration processes we will not consider candidates with other nationalities, except if they are already living on Bonaire and have a valid work permit.

What does a typical day entail?

As a Reservations and Planning Agent, your day will involve managing inquiries and bookings through email, WhatsApp, and phone calls from both customers and staff. Every day is about keeping the operation balanced, efficient, and ready for the unexpected — while driving long-term improvements in how we plan and collaborate.

Dive Instructor

Our dive shops are open 7 days per week to provide a perfect experience for our guests.  We are a retail dealer, importing and distributing merchandise for all Dive Friends shops and retail shops. In addition, we supply other dive centers with dive equipment and accessories on Bonaire and work closely with various on-island suppliers.

What will you do?

• Teaching a variety of PADI courses, from Bubblemaker and DSD’s to Divemaster.
• Leading guided dives for certified divers, ensuring both safety and fun
• Assisting with daily operations such as welcoming and checking in guests, issuing dive equipment, delivering orientation briefings, completing paperwork, recommending great dive sites, advising on the Bonaire Marine Park, and promoting exciting gear and experiences in our retail and dive offerings.

What are we looking for?

• Certified PADI OWSI with active teaching status
• Hospitality mindset
• Fluent English speaker (bonus if you speak more languages)
• Someone holding an active driver’s license
• Someone with the Dutch or U.S. nationality will have preference, due to visa and immigration challenges

• Year contract with two months’ probation (following local law)
• Full-time (40 hours/week) with a 2-day consecutive weekend
• Monthly salary: $2,129 gross
