Have you ever wondered if you have what it takes to be a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor? Well, to start, you need to love diving, have a passion for the marine environment, have a lot of patience in your heart, enjoy attention to detail, have a willingness to become EXTREMELY familiar with the PADI Instructor Manual and have a sense of adventure, responsibility and humour!
The pre-requisite certifications of Divemaster and Emergency First Response Instructor can be taken care of at Dive Friends Bonaire. We’re even willing to help you with your sense of humour and quiz you daily on PADI Standards, Physics, Physiology, Equipment, Decompression Theory and the Environment. And we’re more than happy to jump into the water with you for skill drills and Rescue scenarios.
You will complete several of the knowledge development requirements via the PADI elearning program and then the classroom, confined water and open water portions will take place over 7 fun-filled days with our very own Course Director, Carolyn Caporusso.
PADI sends an Instructor Examiner to Bonaire four times a year for the two day Instructor Examination. Dive Friends Bonaire Divemaster Luis Ventura is in training for the upcoming IE on February 18th and 19th. He’s following in the footsteps of our previous new Open Water Scuba Instructor, Matthew Cole, who successfully completed his IDC with Carolyn in August 2016.
Ask any PADI Instructor to tell you the story of their IDC and IE, and you will see a big smile lighting up their face and hear amazing stories of their life changing experience!
